Head of School Search

We are pleased to share that our search, beginning May 2024, for a new Head of School for the 2025-2026 school year is complete.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we are pleased to announce Beth Suitor as our next Head of School, beginning her tenure with RMS in July 2025.

With over 20 years of experience in education, Beth Suitor has served as a teacher, researcher, assistant head, interim head and head of school, consultant, and in nearly every administrative role. Beth’s experience includes American Montessori Society credentials in Primary Teaching and the Anti-bias, Antiracist (ABAR) Certificate Program. After a comprehensive and deliberate national search process, the Board of Trustees voted unanimously and enthusiastically to affirm the recommendation of the Search Committee for Beth’s appointment.

Beth had a 10-year tenure as Head of the unnamedMontessori School of Evergreen in Colorado. Under her leadership, Evergreen doubled its middle school enrollment and earned dual accreditation. She accomplished this through communication, parent education, and a close partnership with teachers to advance mission-driven programming, notably the Young Entrepreneurs Program where students ran their own businesses and connected with leaders in the community. Through this experience, Beth found that communicating the incomparable outcomes of a Montessori education is paramount.

While Beth has served in a variety of administrative roles, her heart will always be that of a teacher. She firmly believes – and research supports – that no factor is more essential to a child’s education than their teacher. Beth has seen the power of a Montessori education first-hand as the proud mother of a daughter who completed the Montessori journey from primary to 8th grade. At the age of 17, her daughter was ranked in the top 10 percent of her class and had started her own successful business, The Coastal Crumb Bakery. Beth shares, “While I would like to take credit as a parent, the truth is, my daughter’s strengths are a direct result of her time in Montessori.”

After leaving Evergreen, Beth leveraged her experience as Head of School to launch a full-time consulting practice. She provided comprehensive strategic planning and advisory services to Pre-K-12th grade independent schools. Beth specialized in financial modeling, alternative revenue streams, strategies for fundraising, enrollment revenue, and hiring practices that delivered high-caliber employees and drove faculty retention.

Beth’s leadership style makes each member of her community feel seen and valued. She is a connector, encouraging teamwork and a shared vision to achieve goals bigger than ever imagined. Drawn by our mission, Beth is honored and excited to be joining RMS, a Montessori school that inspires academic excellence and nurtures human potential. She is committed to continuing the thoughtful work of honoring our school’s history, celebrating our current success, and positioning us for a future of growth.
